Stereo MC’s are Brixton via Nottingham’s globally revered Hip-Hop / Electronic dance pioneers. Best known for their international Top 20 hit single ‘Connected’, which was released in 1992 and taken from the ‘Connected’ album of the same year. The album reached #2 in the UK Album Chart and also contained the aforementioned hits ‘Step It Up’, ‘Creation’, and ‘Ground Level’, and led to the group winning two Brit Awards for Best Group and Best Album in 1994.

Being childhood friends and neighbours, Rob and Nick formed Stereo MC’s in the mid-eighties, with the pair inspired to make music by their combined love of early hip-hop,funk and electronic music. The Stereo MC’s initially pressed their first 12” vinyl and started their own independent record label called G Street Records with Kiss DJ Richie Rich and budding entrepreneur Jon Baker. When G Street attracted the attention of 4th & Broadway in 1989, the duo recorded the debut Stereo MC’s album, ‘33-45-78’.

Nick said, “When we started getting gigs around that time we thought it would be great to have live drums, even if they made the turntables bounce around. But when we went to the States, the U.S.branch of our record company said, ‘We’re not paying for a drummer to come on tour, because you don’t do that with this type of music’. There were a few barriers to cross before dance music was established as a live music force and was given equal rights in the touring and festival scene. Island Records had a good attitude to developing young acts, though, and we were given time to grow both in the studio and on the road.” After releasing 33-45-78 the band toured with De La Soul, Living Colour and A Certain Ratio.

They then headed to New York to record their second album, ‘Supernatural’ in 1990, bearing the singles ‘Elevate My Mind’ (which made it into the United States R&B Charts) and ‘Lost in Music’ which wasa club hit in the UK and US. This success was further cemented when they supported Happy Mondayson a US tour. Rob said, “If we weren’t on the road or making our own tracks we were remixing for other artists. Life didn’t have a clock, you just worked and vibed until you dropped on the sofa and woke up inyour clothes six hours later. ”Stereo MC’s were in demand for remix work from the likes of U2, Madonna, Tricky, Pressure Drop, David Holmes, Terranova and Mo’Wax records, as well as earlier mixes for The Jungle Brothers, Latifah and RZA.

“The summer of 1992 saw us finish our 3rd LP, Connected, which we toured solidly for about 18 months after its release. It was a big success for us and everybody involved and was a beautiful moment in our development. Navigating our way through the aftermath of over-touring fatigue and life catching up with you was challenging, and for a while the creative spark was hard to find, so we went into recluse mode and built our own studio again so we could get out of the music biz domain.”After making a mix album for the DJ Kicks series on Studio! K7 in 1999, 2001 saw the release of the band’s fourth album ‘Deep Down & Dirty’, followed by a tour that included opening for Jane's Addiction in the US.

The album’s title track became Stereo MC’s fifth consecutive Top 20 hit single in a row. Following recordings for Pias, K7 and Graffiti they continued their long relationship with club music, starting the label ‘connected’ in 2015, initially to release their own new music, but also releasing other artists, and have since become established in the ever-popular Afro House genre. They have also collaborated with some of the biggest current names in house music via releases with Adam Portand Keinemusik and Stil Vor Talent, and have featured guest spots with Re. You , Anja Schneider, Fred Everything and many others.

Josh, a UK-based singer, songwriter, and producer, is known for his raspy voice, emotive songwriting, and captivating live performances. Inspired by his father’s record collection of legends like Bob Dylan and John Lennon, he started jamming at age 5 and began writing songs at 13.
His heartfelt music has taken him to the top of the UK charts, onto ‘Later… with Jools Holland,’ and across Europe, supporting acts like Lianne La Havas and OneRepublic. Now, he’s refining his craft in the studio, with new music set for release early this year.

Hot on the tail of their “thrilling” debut single ‘Gold’, Wiltshire-based alt-rock band Wild Isles is amping up to release their second crowd-pleaser, ‘Stand In Silence’.

Hitting Spotify on 1 August 2024, ‘Stand in Silence’ is packed with a plethora of electrifying and polished riffs as the recently formed five-piece - Tom ‘Macca’ McCarthy (lead vocals), DJ Harman (lead guitarist), Ant Willis (guitarist), James Rowland (bass), and Kyle Foote (drums) - provides an anthemic remedy to life’s hardships.
Underpinned by politically driven and environmentally conscious motifs, ‘Stand In Silence’ offers up high-energy guitar riffs that will both excite and captivate listeners. Exploring a state of social unrest felt in today’s social climate, the band’s lyrics are oWen raw and ominously delivered but the song itself is ultimately tempered by hope for impending change as the chorus belts out “It’s
alright, don’t listen, cause change is on the way”. Lyrically catchy and instrumentally invigorating, Wild Isles offers a riotous feel-good escapist track that ignites a sense of
camaraderie, optimism, and pure sonic elation.

With a radio play on Keep It Rock and rave reviews for their debut single ‘Gold’ already under their belt, Wild Isles’ second single is set to raise the bar even higher. Having already offered a taste of ‘Stand in Silence’ to enthralled live audiences, accompanied by a strong
setlist of original titles, exciting change is very much on the way for Wild Isles. For fans of Mallory Knox, Young Guns, and Nothing But Thieves, this is a band to watch!

Ritual Divide are an alternative rock band from Swindon – Progressive-Grunge / Neo-goth / melodic rock.

The UKs first Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac homage. Combining two of the most recognisable bands of the 70s and 80s.

With one foot in the grunge era, another in modern musical times, another in the realms of classic rock and yet another in more pop-aware, college rock territory. It is no wonder that I See Orange makes such a deft and ornate sound. The music may be heavy, but it always retains sight of the fact that the best songs should balance groove with grind, grit with grace, and power with poise.

Swindon's very own SN Dubstation gained a wide reputation as top entertainers and are no strangers to festival stages. They headlined the Swindon Shuffle in 2015, 2016 and 2018, and a large number of UK festivals
across the country, culminating in a performance at the iconic Boomtown Fair in 2018 as well as multiple other appearances across the festival scene.

In 2019, much to the dismay of their followers, they decided to move on to other things, but after a break of around 5 years, the much loved Swindon Festival "My Dad's Bigger Than Your Dad", managed to persuade them to get back onto the stage and we're delighted that they did.

SN Dubstation are a Reggae + Ska band. Providing melodic horns, fatty basslines and mentalist performances and we're delighted to welcome them to Minety Music Festival 2025. If you’re a fan of reggae, dub, ska, or just great vibes, then this now 7 piece party machine is guaranteed to get you on your feet.

Their fun and flavour filled west country take on ska and reggae. These local Swindon boys’ musical souls hail from somewhere a long way away. We are not talking London here, we’re talking Kingston, Jamaica!

For those of you (only around 30 people) that stayed up late at last year's event and caught Two Pounds Down on the Kandu Arts stage, you were lucky enough to witness something very special; so much so that we couldn't resist inviting them back to play on the Eames Lauire Main Stage.

Two Pounds Down‘s story starts way back, with childhood best friends Jesse (keys) and James (guitar) destined to make music together. Originally from Malvern, Worcestershire, this group of rising stars have been iinvolved in music since they were young.. Brothers Ethan (bass) and Jesse have dreamed of playing in a band together since they were little. Soon after, Gabe (drums) arrived, solidifying the band’s full sound.

Within a year of hitting the stage, their talent was undeniable. They conquered the AMPED battle of the bands in May 2023, earning them a coveted spot on the Lakefest Main Stage in August that same year. This meteoric rise is a testament to their undeniable chemistry. The unpredictability mixed with confidence is how Two Pounds Down catch the attention of those who listen. On stage, they fill venues with contagious energy, their obvious enjoyment for what they do making them an exciting watch.

Two Pounds Down‘s sound is a unique fusion, blending blues rock with modern jazz to create a truly original experience. Their music wavers from heavy rock riffs to technical polyrhythms, ensuring a live show that’s anything but ordinary. Seeing them return to Minety Music Festival in 20254 is an opportunity you won’t want to miss. Get ready for an electrifying set that will have you moving and grooving long after the last note fades.

The Real Cheesemakers is Wiltshire’s favourite nonsense group.
Following their debut album, Grated Hits, finally released just before the pandemic, the band has grown in stature and built up a strong following. This follows collaborations and sold out shows with Chap-Hop legends Professor Elemental and Mr B Gentleman Rhymer, a failed but popular Eurovision Song Contest entry and an award-winning song for plastic-free July.
In 2019 they played with Creed Bratton from the US Office on a few dates of his UK tour to huge acclaim, and supported Goldie Lookin' Chain at their Xmas bash in Bristol.
Most recently they provided the soundtrack for multi-award winning comedy horror short, Guiltea, winning the gold award for best soundtrack at the Fortean International Film Festival.
“psychedelic, surrealist-edged rock… as if Spike Milligan was Iron Maiden’s frontman, yet they were a Wurzels tribute”
